Trainee Programme

Structured entry programme for university graduates with rotation across several departments and a permanent offer.

A trainee programme is a structured entry programme for university graduates that covers multiple departments and topics of an organisation. Trainees rotate over 12 to 24 months, get to know different areas, take on early responsibility and are usually accompanied by a dedicated mentor. The programme typically ends with a permanent role in a target function.

Large corporates, consultancies, the public sector and bigger NGOs deploy trainee programmes intensively. They are common in HR, finance, marketing, IT, engineering and even in administrative career tracks. Application processes are often multi-stage (online test, assessment centre, technical interview) and compete strongly with direct-entry roles.

For candidates, trainee programmes are attractive because they combine security, learning and networking. Drawbacks are limited negotiating power on starting pay and occasionally limited choice over the stations.

Lunigi lists carefully selected trainee programmes from AI-safe areas such as public service, NGOs and major knowledge organisations.
