The Skilled Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz, FEG) has governed since 2020 the conditions under which qualified professionals from non-EU countries can immigrate to Germany for work. It bundles previously scattered rules, speeds up procedures and targets people with recognised vocational training or university degrees.
Core pathways are the residence permit for employment, the EU Blue Card for highly qualified academics, residence permits for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications and job-search visas. The 2023/2024 reform additionally introduced the Chancenkarte – a points-based card allowing entry for job search even without a concrete offer.
Key requirements are typically a recognised degree or a clear path to recognition, language skills (often B1 or higher), secured livelihood and a concrete job offer. In shortage occupations such as nursing, IT, early-childhood education or construction, hurdles are partly lower.
Lunigi also serves candidates entering Germany via the FEG – with curated AI-safe roles in fields where language and recognition can be built up step by step.
