The EU Blue Card is a special residence title for highly qualified non-EU nationals within the European Union. It requires a recognised university degree, a concrete job offer in a field related to the degree and a gross salary above an annually defined threshold. In shortage occupations such as IT, mathematics, natural sciences and medicine the threshold is significantly lower.
The Blue Card allows family reunion without waiting periods, a relatively fast settlement permit (often after 21 or 33 months with strong language skills), mobility within the EU and a stable legal status. It is one of Europe's most attractive migration instruments.
For candidates it offers high planning security: a Blue Card holder is not tied to a single employer and can switch employers under specific conditions. Crucially, employment must remain qualification-adequate – otherwise the card may be at risk.
Lunigi roles in tech, education and healthcare are often Blue-Card-eligible – the platform helps locate matching options quickly.
