Occupational Safety

Measures and rules to protect the safety, health and well-being of employees at work.

Occupational safety covers all measures that secure safety, health and well-being of employees at work. It is governed by the German Occupational Safety Act (ArbSchG), the Workplace Ordinance and numerous sector-specific regulations. Employers are obliged to assess hazards systematically and take appropriate protective measures.

The core is risk assessment: which hazards arise from machinery, materials, noise, screen work, psychological strain or mobility? From this analysis flow technical, organisational and personal protective measures – from ergonomic offices to protective gear in care work.

Alongside classic accident prevention, psychological safety is moving into focus. Stress, constant availability and unclear expectations can significantly affect health and performance. Employers are expected to surface and counter such burdens – for example through clear availability rules and management coaching.

Lunigi targets sustainable, AI-safe roles where strong occupational safety is often culturally anchored – particularly in the public sector and at larger NGOs.
